Sustainable South Osborne grew out of the Province of Manitoba’s Community-Led Emissions Reduction (CLER) program. The CLER program – a four year pilot project aimed at reducing greenhouse gases – was run out of the Lord Roberts and Riverview community centres. As the CLER program progressed and the community participation rose, there was a strong desire to continue what the CLER program had started. Sustainable South Osborne was created to fill this new need.

CLER worked with the Lord Roberts and Riverview Communities to brainstorm, develop and implement over 16 climate change projects.
